Expert power flush services in Worcestershire
Our power flush services at Andrews Heating are performed by our expert and experienced engineers. A Power flush is a cleansing process which aims to remove deposits of sludge, rust and any other debris from your central heating system.
These contaminants, if left, can seriously affect the efficiency of a heating system and, in severe cases, a power flush could be the only option available. Over time the water in your pipes, boiler and radiators deposits unwanted substances such as rust. This rust (plus other dirt and debris) becomes an unpleasant, mud-like substance that professionals affectionately refer to as ‘sludge’.
Sludge in your heating system can cause to blockages and corrosion which will lead to both inefficiency and / or breakdown. In extreme cases it can be so damaging that a complete boiler replacement is needed.
You can receive up to a 12 year guarantee on your new energy efficient boiler.

A power flush can help maximise the efficiency of your boiler and central heating system.
In our opinion If you carry out regular servicing and maintenance by qualified engineers, then a preventative Power flush should only be required every 5-6 years to clear debris and prevent significant blockages from taking hold.
However, this will vary depending on the system you have. For example, some boilers use copper heat exchangers rather than stainless steel which will corrode quicker. We always advise that if you are planning to replace your old boiler, that you request that the engineer performs a Power flush before the new boiler installation. Otherwise, you will risk contaminating the new boiler with damaging sludge and debris that’s hanging around in the old pipework.

After your central heating system has been flushed, you’ll know the benefits straight away. Internally your heating system will be operating much more efficiently. The cleaner flow of hot water may even reduce boiler and pipe noises!
Aside from the obvious cost-saving benefits of a more efficient central heating system, a power flush can help increase hot water temperatures, speed up radiator convection and provide peace of mind with less chance of boiler breakdowns.
